Please, people, you who make this product, have a heart. This product would be fine if the manufacturer did not use low quality material for the see-through window on this product. It doesn't take very long till the see-through plastic gets so wrinkled that it looks and feels awful. Put some quality material into this product, else you won't be trusted with other things you make. Surely, it won't cost you that much, and you won't get a tumb down review.
I do not like having to wrestle with sliding cd/dvd's in and out of these sleeves. The dimensions are about 4-7/8"x4-7/8", about an 1/8" smaller than other sleeves I have purchased. I will not buy Memorex again.
If I had been ordering these only for my own use, I might not have minded this, but these were to be protective sleeves for gift CD's. I ordered these Memorex sleeves, because Memorex was a respected brand, and they appeared to meet my needs. I checked at several large stationery stores to see if this was common practice for Memorex, and every Memorex box had the deforming rubber band. When I opened the Memorex box, I was appalled to see that all of the sleeves were very tightly bound with a rubber band. This deformed about half of the sleeves (about one quarter of them on each of the two ends). It was also interesting to note that the Memorex box had a cutaway so that the sleeves could be seen, but it was oriented so that the rubber band was not visible. One might be inclined to label this deceptive packaging.I also read all of the Amazon reviews carefully, and found that this was not a recent development--reviews dating back to 2004 commented on this packaging by Memorex.
I keep my dvd/cd media in these sleeves. Obviously, you cannot use this to mail dvd or cd. But, it keeps the media scratch and dust free. I recommend them.
I unwittingly got hold of some, and it's more work, plus they don't come out a uniform size). If you use paper sleeves, these are very affordable, plus they're made from heavier paper than the others, which makes them much easier to handle. All paper sleeves are a trade-off: low price and more compact storage versus real protection. Flap is pre-folded, and some cheaper sleeves aren't. (Check on that. But I hate jewel cases and can't afford the larger plastic cases, which also take up a lot of space. Memorex's heavier paper seems to give me more protection for my large-and-growing-larger DVD collection than other paper sleeves, and hey, the price is right.
